Inner Joy & Vitality
A Women's Yoga Retreat

May 30th - June 1, 2008

with Lee

Join Lee for a weekend of flowing yoga, rejuvenation and quietude while connecting to nature.

Yoga is about the essential ongoing relationship with life force as it is expressed through nature and through our bodies. Through our practice we begin to cultivate the awareness of how we are linked to the natural world around us.

Ancient yogic texts teach us that we are composed of 5 layers (koshas) - physical, energetic, mental , universal consciousness and our innermost layer – ananda or bliss. It is said that if we remove our veil of misunderstanding (maya), we could tap into this wellspring within us.

We will be exploring the concept of koshas while practicing asanas, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation that are wonderfully rejuvenating (rasayana). As trees have sap that allow nutrients to be distributed throughout their 'bodies', we have rasa - a kind of inner juice or sap that keeps us feeling young and vital. It is said the more we practice nourishing yogic practices the healthier and juicier we will feel!

Close to Clinton, Chinook Retreat center is located on verdant lands of coniferous and deciduous trees with open fields and organic fruit trees and gardens. There are trails and a classical full size labyrinth to explore for walking meditations. For deep relaxation and inner purification, there is a wood burning sauna for us to use.

Accommodation will be in one of two renovated turn of the century farm houses. The yoga room and meditation sanctuary are spectacular - with floor to ceiling views of the surrounding quietude. The vegetarian meals are wonderful!
